I must admit, I have this in cassette and just couldn't pass up the opportunity to get in on CD. Beautiful voice, beautiful message, beautiful Christmas (as well as any other season) music.
"Mary did you know," for sure. We actually got to meet and talk to Kathy after the show. I bought a signed copy of this CD at a Kathy Mattea Concert back in October, when she came to the Jefferson Center in Roanoke. But I had also heard Robin and Linda Williams sing "Brightest and Best," and Nothing But a Child," so I knew I'd love this album. I really enjoyed listening to this CD during the Holiday season this year. I already knew afew of these songs. As I look at the CD cover online, I can almost see Kathy's autograph to me. Thanks, Kathy.
"Mary Did You Know." is probably the best know, but the rest are all beautiful. This is a great Christmas album that is NOT full of cheesy holiday tunes. As the title implies, all songs are religiously themed about the birth of Jesus. A must have for any Kathy Mattea fan. Her rich alto is a different sound in the world of country music.

Not only did she sing with passion, but she believes every word is the Gospel truth. We've listened to this beautiful music since seeing several songs performed on Kathy Lee Gifford's Christmas Special in 1994. Kathy Mattea only exceeded our enjoyment of it when we saw her perform in person 5 years ago. We order more copies every year and distribute them as gifts for Christmas. Thank you, Kathy and musicians.
